MATT HOLLAND
Matt Holland was one of our best players and was eventually sold to Ipswich Town. He helped the club get to the Premiership but unfortunately they were relegated last year. However he made up for this by playing a great world cup for the Irish Republic and scoring one of the goals of the tournament against Cameroon. He joined The Cherries in 1995 and went on to play 104 league games and score 18 goals. He was poached by The Tractor Boys for 800,000 pounds at the start of 1997, and played 223 consecutive games until he was rested for an FA Cup game against Crewe in October 2001. Cherries fans have been praying he'll move on from Ipswich, as he has a sell-on clause in his contract in which we get a quarter of the fee paid for him, but we have been very frustrated by his endless loyalty to Ipswich and the lack of substancial offers for him despite a series of shining performances in the world cup. It looks like he's happy at Ipswich so no money for us there
