Jermain Defoe and Andy Williams
|
Jermain Defoe
Jermain is a great promising young footballer as the Dean Court faithfull found out two seasons ago. He nearly beat all the records with his ten goals in ten league games in a row. Jermain plays upfront for the England under-21 team and scored within three seconds of coming on in a four-goal thrashing of Holland and I would say he has a good chance of going with the full squad to the World Cup in Germany in 2006. Jermain was an instant hit with the West Ham fans after scoring within three minutes of making his debut. Jermain may be leaving Weat Ham after their relegation. He has handed in a transfer request in his bid to maintain his Premier League status

The Cherries' LEAGUE RECORD (please note-up to 1990 is the old league numbers without a premiership-eg old division three is what we now call division two) 1923-1970: Division three 1970-1971: Division four 1971-1975: Division three 1975-1982: Division four 1982-1987: Division three 1987-1990: Division two 1990-2002: Division three/new Division two 2002-present: Division three
2005- Premiership?
FA CUP
We reached the quarter-finals and grabbed newspaper headlines in the 1956/57 season where we were drawn to play Manchester United, having already knocked out Spurs. We took the lead at Dean Court but were eventually knocked out 2-1. In the 1983/34 season we played the cup holders United again at Dean Court. We played well and humiliated the Manchester outfit. They lifted the trophy the following season which meant that Bournemouth were the only side to beat them in the FA Cup for three years. Thus our record against United in the FA Cup is scored 3 conceded 2.Wycombe remains the only non-league team to knock us out of the competition, recently we eased past Chris Waddle's Worksop Town 3-0.
